Max S. Hayes unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of John Hay on Wednesday. The Lakers have struggled against John Hay recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Max S. Hayes started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-9, 25-14, 25-7.

Max S. Hayes has already played their next matchup (against Cuyahoga Falls), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for John Hay, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Trinity at 6:00 p.m. on September 2.
