Soccer Recap: Clairemont Takes a Loss

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Clairemont's offense. They came up short against the Hoover Cardinals on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Chieftains of the 4-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2015.

Clairemont has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Hoover, their victory bumped their record up to 5-8-6.

Clairemont and Hoover could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Clairemont will face off against University City at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday down 510 places (683 vs. 173). Similarly, Hoover (ranked 717th) will meet Kearny (ranked 268th) at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
