Baseball Recap: Citrus Takes a Loss

Citrus was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 15-11 to the River Ridge Royal Knights. The Hurricanes were not able to make up for their loss to the Royal Knights from their previous meeting back in March of 2017.

Tristan Beck made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole Three bases. while going 4-for-5. He has become a key player for Citrus: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 4-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Cade Arnold, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-5.

Beck wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Citrus kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Citrus' defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for River Ridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

Citrus has already played their next matchup (against Nature Coast Tech), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for River Ridge, they will face off against Cypress Creek at 7:00 p.m. on March 25th. River Ridge is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.
