Volleyball Recap: Clarkton Comes Up Short

Clarkton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Kennett Indians, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Reindeer of the 3-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

While Clarkton was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Kennett's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-18, 25-21.

Lyla Hernandez paced Clarkton's offense, picking up 14 kills. Hernandez got some help from Arissa Vincent and her 23 assists. Vincent was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Clarkton's defeat dropped their record down to 6-18-1. As for Kennett, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-8.

Looking ahead, Clarkton will square off against Piggott at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Kennett, they will take on Central at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
