Baseball Game Preview: West Marshall Trojans vs. Nevada Cubs

West Marshall is 6-1 against Nevada since June of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Trojans will head out on the road to square off against the Cubs at 5:15 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (West Marshall 3.2, Nevada 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Nevada will be up against a hot West Marshall squad: the team just extended their winning streak to five. The Trojans were the clear victors by an 11-4 margin over Greene County on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won four contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Nevada entered their tilt with Iowa Falls-Alden on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Cadets 4-2.

Nevada's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for West Marshall, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Everything went West Marshall's way against Nevada when the teams last played back in June of 2024, as West Marshall made off with a 7-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
