The Keyser Golden Tornado will square off against the PikeView Panthers at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Keyser is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.

Keyser heads in on the heels of a playoff contest on Wednesday. They fell just short of John Marshall by a score of 9-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Golden Tornado have suffered since April 28th.

Brielle Root and Bibs Felton stepped up to the plate in a big way. Root went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Felton got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs. Another player making a difference was Aleah Smith, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Meanwhile, PikeView earned a 4-1 win over Brooke on Tuesday.

Shelby Maddox spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up 12 Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Lauren Lambert, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. Annie White was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

PikeView is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 18 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Keyser, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 24-7 record this season.
