For the second straight game, Red Mountain will face off against Mesa. The Mountain Lions will be playing in front of their home fans against the Jackrabbits at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Red Mountain is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.

On Tuesday, Red Mountain made easy work of Mesa and carried off a 9-1 victory. The win continues a trend for the Mountain Lions in their matchups with the Jackrabbits: they've now won nine in a row.

Drew Hanen looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Derek Wilson was excellent, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Simeon Johnson was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases.

Red Mountain pushed their record up to 14-3 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Mesa, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-13.
