Softball Game Preview: Northern Lebanon Vikings vs. Upper Dauphin Area Trojans

The Northern Lebanon Vikings will face off against the Upper Dauphin Area Trojans at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Northern Lebanon's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Upper Dauphin Area's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

While Northern Lebanon's victory against Manheim Central wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Vikings won by a run and slipped past the Barons 2-1. The win continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Barons: they've now won five in a row.

Lynsie Mauser was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. Mauser was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Mauser wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Olivia Shutter, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Upper Dauphin Area). They never let Greenwood get on the board and left with a 19-0 victory on Monday. The win was nothing new for the Trojans as they're now sitting on four straight.

Northern Lebanon pushed their record up to 10-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Upper Dauphin Area, their victory bumped their record up to 8-4.
