Volleyball Recap: Abby Lane Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat New Prairie

Penn won the last time they faced New Prairie and things went their way on Thursday too. The Kingsmen blew past the Cougars 3-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Kingsmen.

While Penn won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The final score came out to 25-8, 27-25, 25-19.

Penn's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Abby Lane led the charge by getting 16 digs and two assists. Lane has been hot, having posted 11 or more digs the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Petty, who had 21 assists and four digs.

Penn's victory bumped their record up to 21-6. As for New Prairie, their defeat ended a four-match streak of away wins and brought them to 13-17.

As of now, neither Penn nor the Cougars have any future games scheduled.
