Basketball Recap: Lawrence Academy Drops Season-High Score on Northeast Academy for Aerospace and Advanced Tech

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lawrence Academy). They breezed by the Northeast Academy For Aerospace and Advanced Tech Griffins to the tune of 78-15 on Wednesday. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 24 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lawrence Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Claire Smith, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds. Smith's evening made it eight games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Ellie Farmer was another key player, going 8 for 16 on her way to 20 points in addition to four steals and four blocks.

Lawrence Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in 14 consecutive matches.

Lawrence Academy's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-6. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.0 points per game. As for Northeast Academy For Aerospace and Advanced Tech, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Lawrence Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Halifax Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
