            Baseball Recap: Mercer Island Islanders vs. Hazen Highlanders        
        
		
        
        
            Mercer Island lost to Hazen  back in April of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. Mercer Island came out on top against Hazen by a score of  5-2. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for the Islanders.
 Chase Koehler looked comfortable as he  struck out six batters over  four innings while giving up just one earned run off   three  hits. What's more,  he gave up only two  walks, the fewest he's  had since back in April of 2024.

 On the hitting side, Mercer Island saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Tyler Williamson, who  scored two  runs while going 1-for-4. Those  two  runs gave  Williamson a new career-high.  Cody Anderson also deserves some recognition as  he  brought in his first  RBI of the season.
The  win was their first  at home , bumping their record up to 2-4-1. As for Hazen, they now  have a losing record of 3-4.
 Coming up, Mercer Island will challenge Juanita at 6:00  p.m.  on Monday. As for Hazen, they will welcome Sammamish  at 3:00  p.m.  on Saturday. Sammamish will roll in looking for their  seventh straight  victory, something Hazen surely won't give up without a fight.
