Softball Recap: Pope John Paul II Takes a Loss

Pope John Paul II had lost three straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 10-12 to make it four. They fell just short of the Christ Presbyterian Academy Lions by a score of 16-14. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Knights have suffered since April 24, 2024.

Ella Fisher made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with three runs and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddie Black, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

As for Christ Presbyterian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games.

On Christ Presbyterian Academy's side, the team relied heavily on Leah Robinson, who went 4-for-6 with two triples, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs Robinson has posted since back in March. Audrey Townsend was another key player, going 3-for-6 with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI.
