Football Recap: North Buncombe Comes Up Short + How To Watch

North Buncombe had lost five straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 2-4 to make it six. They lost to the Enka Jets on the road by a 21-3 margin. The contest marked the Black Hawks' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

As for Enka, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4. They have beaten North Buncombe the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest North Buncombe has come to flipping the script.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Enka to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tommy McKinney, who rushed for 61 yards and a pair of scores on only eight carries. What's more, McKinney posted two rushing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in September of 2024. Another receiver making a difference was William Parham, who gained 124 total yards.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. North Buncombe will head out to challenge T.C. Roberson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rams will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last. As for Enka, they will venture away from home to take on Erwin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
