Baseball Game Preview: Gate City Blue Devils vs. Dobyns-Bennett Indians

The Gate City Blue Devils will venture away from home to face off against the Dobyns-Bennett Indians at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Friday, Gate City came up short against Greeneville and fell 11-7.

Brayden Cox made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-3. Those home runs were his first of the season.

Meanwhile, Dobyns-Bennett didn't have quite enough to beat Jefferson County on Friday and fell 6-5. That's two games in a row now that the Indians have lost by just one run.

This is the second loss in a row for Dobyns-Bennett and nudges their season record down to 19-6. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only one runs. As for Gate City, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3-1.
