Basketball Recap: Assumption's Run of Three Straight Victories Now Over

Assumption lost against Marathon back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Assumption Royals fell 67-54 to the Marathon Red Raiders. The Royals' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Assumption's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-4. As for Marathon, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Assumption will finish 2024 at home by hosting Amherst at 1:15 p.m. on Thursday. Assumption is facing Amherst at the right time seeing as Amherst is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Marathon, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Columbus Catholic at 4:45 p.m. on Friday.
