Football Recap: Dan River Wildcats vs. Gretna Hawks

After flying high against William Campbell last Friday, Dan River came back down to earth. The Wildcats took a blow against the Gretna Hawks on Friday, falling 56-28. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Hawks recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Josiah Farmer threw for 198 yards and a pair of TDs. Daylin Gregory was his top target, picking up 63 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Gretna had a senior duo take command as Khalil Waller rushed for 326 yards and three scores while picking up 8.6 yards per carry and Rayshaun Logan rushed for 135 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries. Those 326 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Waller. Tysen Miller also helped out with an impressive 82 receiving yards.

Dan River's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Gretna, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.
