Volleyball Recap: High Tech Mesa Takes a Loss

If High Tech Mesa was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Bayfront Charter on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Thunder took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Horizon Prep Lions on Thursday. The Thunder were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lions earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

High Tech Mesa was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Horizon Prep work for it, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-21, 29-27, 24-26, 25-20.

Loss or not, High Tech Mesa got some senior leadership from Kaya Helm and Samaria Baron. Helm had 26 kills, while Baron had 37 assists. Baron has been hot for a while, having posted 16 or more assists the last 14 times she's played.

High Tech Mesa's defeat dropped their record down to 14-12. As for Horizon Prep, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-13 record this season.

As of now, neither High Tech Mesa nor Horizon Prep have any future games scheduled.
