Softball Recap: Ann Sobrato Victorious

Ann Sobrato's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They never let the Notre Dame Regents get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Bulldogs needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

Sam Zimmerman was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Zoe Rodriguez was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, three runs, and three RBI. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Graciella Marchan, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one double.

Ann Sobrato was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .448. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Notre Dame only posted a batting average of .300.

Ann Sobrato now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Notre Dame, their loss dropped their record down to 13-9.

Ann Sobrato didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-5 defeat against Gilroy on the 6th. As for Notre Dame, they have also already played their next contest, a 10-5 win against South San Francisco on the 7th.
