Basketball Recap: Dove Science Academy Comes Up Short

Dove Science Academy and Webster squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Dove Science Academy had to settle for second. They had to suffer through a 71-28 loss at the hands of the Webster Warriors. The loss continues a trend for the Raptors in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost three in a row.

Webster's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Hondo Avington led the charge by shooting 67% from the field to rack up 12 points in addition to six assists and three steals. Avington is on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 47% in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Kimble, who posted 17 points.

Dove Science Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Webster, they moved to 11-15 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

As of now, neither Dove Science Academy nor Webster have any future games scheduled.
