Preview: Sioux City West vs. Southeast Polk
If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Southeast Polk. The Eastside and Westside will square off on Thursday when Sioux City West and Southeast Polk meet at 7:00 PM. Both of these teams will be looking for a pick-me-up after considerable defeats in their previous games.
We expected Southeast Polk to have trouble with the significantly higher ranked Ankeny Centennial last Friday, and they did. Southeast Polk ended up on the wrong side of a painful 10-31 walloping at Ankeny Centennial's hands. The matchup was a 10-10 toss-up at halftime, but Southeast Polk were outplayed the rest of the way.
Meanwhile, Sioux City West found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 14-41 punch to the gut against Marshalltown. Sioux City West were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 7-27.
