Recap: Beech Buccaneers vs. Oakland Patriots
The Beech Buccaneers pushed their score all the way to 56 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Oakland by a score of 59-56. Beech has not had much luck with Oakland recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite the loss, Beech still got an impressive performance from Carson Sisk, who scored 9 points along with 7 rebounds and 5 steals. Sisk hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Ford, who scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
Oakland found their leader in underclassman Amaya Nash, who scored 18 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Nash has scored at least 25% of Oakland's points. Alonna Poole was another key contributor, scoring 9 points.
Beech's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Oakland, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-3.
Beech will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Rockvale at 6:00 p.m. Rockvale is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 62 points per game. As for Oakland, they will head out on the road to face off against Upperman at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Upperman is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
