Preview: Poteet vs. Pearsall
Poteet is on a five-game streak of home losses, Pearsall a six-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Poteet Aggies will take on the Pearsall Mavericks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Poteet's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.
Poteet fell victim to Floresville's stalwart defense last Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 8-0 walloping at the hands of the Tigers.
Meanwhile, after a 6-2 finish the last time they played, Pearsall and Hondo decided to play a little more cautiously this time around. Pearsall fell 2-0 to Hondo on Friday. Pearsall has not had much luck with Hondo recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Poteet's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. Pearsall's season is starting to look like last year's as the team currently sits at a 1-6 record this season.
Poteet might still be hurting after the 5-1 loss they got from Pearsall when the teams last played back in March of 2023. Can Poteet avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
