Doussouba Sylla leads Summit to victory over Battle Mountain

Recap: Summit Tigers vs. Battle Mountain Huskies

The Summit Tigers entered their tilt with the Battle Mountain Huskies with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Summit walked away with a 44-35 win over Battle Mountain on Tuesday. That's another feather in the cap for Summit, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

Doussouba Sylla went supernova for Summit, scoring 21 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kayla Smith, who scored eight points along with 13 rebounds.

Battle Mountain lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kate Kovacik, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kovacik has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Izzy Kovacik, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and six assists.

Summit has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. As for Battle Mountain, they dropped their record down to 5-13 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Summit's road trip will continue as they head out to face Moffat County at 5:30 p.m. on February 9th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Colorado (Moffat County is ranked 134th, while Summit is ranked 141st). As for Battle Mountain, they will be playing at home against Palisade at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Battle Mountain will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 242nd, while Palisade is ranked 78th).
