Softball Game Preview: Green Level Gators vs. Holly Springs Golden Hawks

Green Level hasn't had much luck against Holly Springs recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Gators will square off against the Golden Hawks at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Green Level was handed a nine-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Green Hope, sneaking past 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Gators have posted since March 12th.

Meanwhile, Holly Springs entered their tilt with Cary on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 19-3 margin over the Imps. The result was nothing new for the Golden Hawks, who have now won 11 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Holly Springs' victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-4. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Green Level, their victory bumped their record up to 6-10.

Green Level might still be hurting after the 13-3 loss they got from Holly Springs when the teams last played back in March. Can the Gators avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
