Basketball Game Preview: Independence Knights vs. Heritage Coyotes

Independence is 2-8 against Heritage since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Independence Knights will take on the Heritage Coyotes at 7:15 p.m.

Last Friday, Independence was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 39-38 to Centennial. The contest marked the Knights' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Heritage came tearing into Friday's match with ten straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took their contest with ease, bagging an 89-54 victory over the Mavericks. The Coyotes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 games by 20 points or more this season.

Heritage's win was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 27-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.4 points over those games. As for Independence, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-16.

Independence came up short against Heritage in their previous meeting back in January, falling 65-54. Can Independence avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
