Beaverton took a 22-point defeat the last time they faced off against Westview, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Beavers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 34-31 win over the Wildcats on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Beavers have posted against the Wildcats since October 21, 2016.
Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Charlie Barton, who threw for 145 yards and one TD, and also punched in one rushing score. Tahkai Smith was another key player, picking up 98 receiving yards and one score.
Beaverton's record now sits at 5-2. As for Westview, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season.
