Soccer Game Preview: Lockport vs. Lincoln-Way West

The Lockport Porters will take on the Lincoln-Way West Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Lockport's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Richwoods. Lockport haven't had any issues with Richwoods recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Lincoln-Way West had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They blew past the Boilermakers 5-0. That five goal margin sets a new team best for Lincoln-Way West this season.

Lincoln-Way West's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-5. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 12 goals over those three games. As for Lockport, their win bumped their record up to 14-4.

Lockport took their victory against Lincoln-Way West in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 4-1 score. In that match, the Porters amassed a halftime lead of 3-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
