Softball Recap: Grandview's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Grandview had lost four games on the road, but after bumping their record up to 7-12-2 on Thursday that streak is in the rearview. They put the hurt on the Quincy Jackrabbits with a sharp 22-12 win. With that victory, the Greyhounds brought their scoring average up to 6.8 runs per game.

The team relied heavily on Aileen Ledesma, who went 4-for-5 with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brenna Snyder, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Grandview kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. They got seven more hits than Quincy's also-impressive total of 13.

As for Quincy, they are on a 21-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-19. On the bright side, the 12- run effort marked their highest-scoring match to date.

On Quincy's side, Amy Buenrostro stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Myka Hinojosa, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Grandview will have a chance to go back-to-back against Quincy: the pair will be back at it again later today.
