Basketball Game Preview: Kennedale Wildcats vs. Hillsboro Eagles

The Kennedale Wildcats will head out to square off against the Hillsboro Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Kennedale has five straight victories, Hillsboro has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Kennedale will head into Tuesday's game having proved themselves against Ferris: Kennedale took a 41-point loss the last time they faced off against Ferris, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Kennedale came out on top in a nail-biter against Ferris on Tuesday, sneaking past 47-45. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 98th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 578th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Hillsboro suffered their biggest defeat since December 20, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 55-31 to Venus.

Kennedale's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 21-7. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.7 points per game. As for Hillsboro, their loss dropped their record down to 13-12.

Everything came up roses for Kennedale against Hillsboro in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, as the squad secured an 87-40 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Kennedale since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
