Softball Game Preview: Williamsville East Flames vs. Starpoint Spartans

For the second straight game, Williamsville East will face off against Starpoint. The Flames will face off against the Spartans at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Williamsville East's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They came out on top against Starpoint by a score of 5-0. The Flames haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Not much got past Libby Kosmowski, who gave up just four hits and racked up ten Ks to keep Starpoint off the board. Kosmowski has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Elise Prelewicz was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and two doubles. Those doubles marked the first that she has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Ava Wendell, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Williamsville East was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .464. The last time their batting average was this high was back in May of 2024.

Starpoint's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Williamsville East, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.
