Basketball Recap: Jesuit Makes It Eight in a Row at Home

Jesuit extended their home winning streak to eight games dating back to last season thanks to a huge performance from Tyler Caouette. The Tigers came out on top against the Winthrop College Prep Academy Spartans by a score of 54-45 on Tuesday for which the team can thank Caouette, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and ten boards. His big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points.

Another player making a difference was Mike McLendon, who posted ten points. McLendon is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season.

Several Spartans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kai Brookins, who went 5-for-11 on his way to 13 points. Maikel Miranda was another key player, putting up six points along with five rebounds and three blocks.

Jesuit's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Winthrop College Prep Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Coming up, Jesuit will square off against Sumner at 7:00 p.m. on December 3. As for Winthrop College Prep Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 57-46 victory against Palmetto on the 28th.
