Softball Recap: Orchard View Takes a Loss

Orchard View extended their losing streak to 13 on Friday, dropping their season record down to 2-13 in the process. They lost 16-0 to the Fremont Packers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Packers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-0 on Friday.

As for Fremont, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 16-5-1. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 games by seven runs or more this season.

For Fremont's part, they got a massive performance out of Riley Derks, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave Derks a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Izabel Austin, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Orchard View will head out to face off against Montague at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fremont, they will challenge Hesperia at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
