Softball Game Preview: Hebron Hawks vs. Braswell Bengals

The Hebron Hawks are taking a road trip to challenge the Braswell Bengals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hebron's pitching crew has only allowed 2.1 runs per game this season, so Braswell's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Hebron barely beat Lewisville the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Everything went Hebron's way against Lewisville on Tuesday as Hebron made off with a 12-2 win. That looming 12-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Hawks yet this season.

Kate Buesing spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Alyssa Summers was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Allie Lovett, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Hebron always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. The last time their OBP was this high was back in February of 2024.

Meanwhile, Braswell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 12-0 to Coppell.

Hebron is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. Braswell's loss dropped their record down to 2-12.
