How to watch: MaxPreps Game of the Week kicks off in Georgia with Collins Hill hosting nationally-ranked Grayson

Showdown between Eagles, Rams begins 12-week showcase highlighting some of high school football’s top programs.

MaxPreps and the NFHS Network are coming together this fall to launch the MaxPreps Game of the Week. The spotlight starts this Friday, Aug. 15, with defending Georgia Class AAAAAA state champion Grayson (Loganville) going on the road to take on Collins Hill (Suwanee).

Grayson is ranked No. 4 in the Preseason MaxPreps Top 25 and has won four Georgia state title since 2011. The Rams have produced a steady stream of college and NFL players, including Wayne Gallman and Robert Nkemdiche.

Collins Hill is coming off an 11-win season and is best known as the high school home of Travis Hunter, the 2024 Heisman Trophy winner. The Eagles are ranked No. 56 in our expanded top 100 rankings.

Grayson is led offensively by senior quarterback Travis Burgess, who threw 23 touchdowns against four interceptions in 2024. Defensively, five-star Texas pledge Tyler Atkinson returns after a 2024 season where he recorded 166 tackles and 13 sacks, earning him MaxPreps National Junior of the Year. Atkinson had 13 tackles and two sacks when these two squads met in the third round of the playoffs last November, a 38-14 win for Grayson.

The Collins Hill offense runs through junior quarterback Makyree Cross and Stanford commit Atticus Joseph at wide receiver. The defense is dominated by senior lineman Deuce Geralds. The four-star senior LSU pledge had 13 sacks last season.

The MaxPreps social media team will be on campus for Game of the Week to highlight top players, behind-the-scenes action and showcase what makes high school football special. Calling the game will be Jeff Kurtz alongside MaxPreps National Football Editor Zack Poff.
