Softball Game Preview: Mesa Jackrabbits vs. Boulder Creek Jaguars

Mesa is 0-6 against Boulder Creek since March of 2019 but things could change on Monday. Mesa will square off against Boulder Creek at 3:45 p.m. Mesa has given up an average of 13.4 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Friday just wasn't the day for Mesa's offense. They lost 18-0 to Highland on Friday. The Jackrabbits have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Boulder Creek has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.77 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit last Friday. They came up short against Desert Mountain, falling 10-2. The Jaguars' defeat signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

Bailey Kerr made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Grunert, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

Mesa's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Boulder Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-2.

Mesa might still be hurting after the 25-4 loss they got from Boulder Creek in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can Mesa avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
