Baseball Recap: Port of Los Angeles Drops Season-High Score on Dorsey

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Port of Los Angeles). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Dorsey Dons a 27-0 shutout on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Polar Bears in their matchups with the Dons: they've now won eight in a row.

Joaquin Guerrero and Robert Reveles made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Guerrero tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Reveles tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave Guerrero a new career-high in strikeouts (five). At bat, Guerrero scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3, while Reveles scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Port of Los Angeles got a massive performance out of Damian Ochoa, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most stolen bases Ochoa has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jonathan Rosette, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple.

Port of Los Angeles now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Dorsey, their loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-6.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Port of Los Angeles is set to challenge their familiar foe King/Drew at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Polar Bears 2.4, the Golden Eagles 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Dorsey will square off against rival Locke at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
