Basketball Recap: Provine Takes a Loss

Provine lost against Jim Hill back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Rams took a hard 71-56 fall against the Tigers.

Despite the loss, Provine saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Makeyl Jenkins shot 67% from beyond the arc en route to 22 points. Those 22 points set a new season-high mark for Jenkins. Jemar Walker was another key player, putting up eight points and nine rebounds.

Provine's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Jim Hill, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Provine didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 46-43 victory against Northeast Lauderdale on the 6th. As for Jim Hill, they will head out to challenge West Jones at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers will be up against the Mustangs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 57.14 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
