Basketball Game Preview: Allen Park Jaguars vs. Edsel Ford Thunderbirds

The Allen Park Jaguars and the Edsel Ford Thunderbirds will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Tuesday, Allen Park earned a 61-50 win over Carlson. Given the Jaguars' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 162nd, while the Marauders are ranked 332nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Edsel Ford waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They strolled past the Bears with points to spare, taking the game 62-47.

Edsel Ford pushed their record up to 3-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points per game. As for Allen Park, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.

Allen Park was taken down by Edsel Ford 57-30 when the teams last played back in February. Can Allen Park avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
