Football Preview: Hampton Bulldogs vs. York Institute Dragons
The Hampton Bulldogs will face off against the York Institute Dragons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
Last Thursday, Hampton ended up a good deal behind South Greene and lost 35-20. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, York Institute waltzed into their matchup last Thursday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They managed an 18-13 win over the Wildcats. Logan Pannell continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 112 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 100.7 rushing yards per game. Another back making a difference was Blake Voiles, who rushed for 74 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.
York Institute was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 291 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Polk County only rushed for 90.

Hampton was dealt a bruising 56-13 defeat at the hands of York Institute in their previous matchup back in November of 2023. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Hampton was down 43-6.
