Softball Game Preview: Desert Christian Eagles vs. Safford Bulldogs

The Desert Christian Eagles will take on the Safford Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Friday just wasn't the day for Desert Christian's offense. They came up short against Willcox on Friday, falling 21-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Cowboys: they've now lost six in a row.

Desert Christian saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Reece Welch, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Safford also failed to score in their most recent game. They lost 11-0 to Tanque Verde on Thursday. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Bulldogs' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Safford's loss dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Desert Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-14.
