Softball Preview: Atlee Raiders vs. King William Cavaliers        
        
		
            
 The Atlee Raiders will head out on the road to  face off against  the King William Cavaliers at 6:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
 King William is hoping to do  on Wednesday what Varina couldn't  on Monday: put an end to Atlee's winning streak, which now stands at three games. Atlee's pitcher stepped up to hand Varina  a   10-0 shutout. With that  victory, Atlee brought their scoring average up to 6.2  runs per game.
  Casey Hughes made a splash no matter where she played. She  didn't allow a single  earned run and  only one  hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Hughes was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run while  getting on base  in all three of her plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  Camdyn Metts was  incredible,  going 2-for-2 with two  runs, a  triple,  and  an  RBI.  Leah Austin was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs while  getting on base  in all three of her plate appearances.
 Meanwhile, King William had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They were the clear victor by  a  12-1 margin over the Royal Tigers.
 Atlee is  on a roll lately: they've  won six of their last seven matches,  which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record  this season. As for King William, their win bumped their record up to 15-1.
 Atlee was able to grind out a solid  victory over King William in their previous matchup  back in April of 2016, winning  4-0. Does  Atlee have another victory up their sleeve, or will King William turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
