Baseball Recap: Palo Verde Valley Triumphs

Palo Verde Valley won the last time they faced Central and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Yellow Jackets had just enough and edged out the Spartans 6-5. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Yellow Jackets.

Dominic Rios was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one triple. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Christian Pinon Gonzalez also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Palo Verde Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are 7-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Palo Verde Valley's record now sits at 14-11-1. As for Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-16 record this season.

Palo Verde Valley will have a chance to go back-to-back against Central: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
