Basketball Recap: Waukegan Skates Past Zion-Benton with Ease

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Waukegan's strategy against Zion-Benton on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Waukegan Bulldogs blew the Zion-Benton Zee-Bees out of the water with a 68-11 final score. With the Bulldogs ahead 36-7 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

It was another big night for Hadassah Brown, who almost dropped a triple-double on 28 points, 11 boards, and nine steals. Her evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Alliaya Cade was another key player, putting up 14 points and eight steals.

Waukegan smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Despite the loss, Zion-Benton had strong showings from London Davis, who posted five points and 11 rebounds, and Samyra Epps, who put up no points.

Waukegan's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Zion-Benton, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Waukegan wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 46-19 defeat against Lake Zurich on the 11th. As for Zion-Benton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 39-30 loss against McHenry on the 7th.
