Soccer Game Preview: Clovis East vs. Clovis West

The Clovis East Timberwolves will head out to face off against the Clovis West Golden Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Clovis East's last four matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Tuesday, Clovis East didn't have quite enough to beat Clovis North and fell 2-1. The defeat continues a trend for Clovis East in their meetings with Clovis North: they've now lost nine in a row.

Clovis East's goal came courtesy of Francisco Damas, who's now up to eight this season.

Meanwhile, Clovis West and Central East faced off in a cross-town battle on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bengals, sneaking past 1-0. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Clovis West were the better team in the second half.

Clovis East's loss dropped their record down to 10-5-2. As for Clovis West, the win got them back to even at 8-8-2.

Everything went Clovis East's way against Clovis West in their previous matchup two weeks ago, as Clovis East made off with a 4-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Timberwolves since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
