Baseball Recap: Alma Center Lincoln Comes Up Short

Alma Center Lincoln lost against Independence/Gilmanton back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Hornets took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Indees. The Hornets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Alma Center Lincoln saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ben Ross, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Ross is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Luke Anderson also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Alma Center Lincoln's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Independence/Gilmanton, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Alma Center Lincoln will welcome Blair-Taylor at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Hornets' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Independence/Gilmanton, they will take on Elmwood/Plum City at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
