Volleyball Recap: Hayworth Christian Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Hayworth Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the John Yowell Academy Panthers on Friday. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

While Hayworth Christian might've won, it sure wasn't easy: John Yowell Academy scored at least 19 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-19, 23-25, 25-22.

Ashley Jimenez paced Hayworth Christian's offense, picking up eight kills. Jimenez got some help from Caroline Briles and her 12 assists. Kaitlyn Mullis controlled things from the service line, finishing with eight aces.

The victory got Hayworth Christian back to even at 1-1. As for John Yowell Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hayworth Christian will venture away from home to take on Legacy Athletics at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for John Yowell Academy, they will head out to face off against Quality Education Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
