Basketball Recap: Louisburg Piles Up the Points Against Durham School of the Arts

There's no place like home for Louisburg, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped on Wednesday as they easily beat the Durham School of the Arts Bulldogs 59-31. The contest marked the Warriors' most dominant victory of the season.

Louisburg got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaylen Alexander out in front who posted ten points. Another player making a difference was Johnathan Closs, who put up seven points and 11 rebounds.

Louisburg was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Durham School of the Arts only posted five assists.

Durham School of the Arts' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Karrell Francis, who earned 11 points and five boards, and Tony McDonald, who had five points and three steals. That's the most points Francis has posted since back in November of 2024.

Louisburg's record now sits at 7-13. As for Durham School of the Arts, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-18.

Louisburg has already played their next matchup (against Carrboro), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Durham School of the Arts will welcome Vance County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
