Independence had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Mallard Creek Mavericks as they made off with a 3-0 win. For the Patriots, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 victory the Mavericks walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2015.
Independence's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Mallard Creek, their loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-14.
