Game recap: Asheboro falls to North Davidson as win streak continues

North Davidson (Lexington, N.C.) extended its winning streak to five games with a 48-3 victory over Asheboro (N.C.) on Saturday.After taking the lead on a touchdown run by Chase Mitchell in the first quarter, the Knights led 20-3 at the half.

North Davidson expanded its lead to 38 points entering the fourth quarter. ND scored three times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by Ketrick Eller.

Mitchell stood out for the Lexington school in the win. The senior quarterback threw one touchdown and ran for one touchdown.

Will O'Briant made a difference for the Blue Comets. The senior kicked one field goal.

Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 14-10 win for the Knights.



The loss snapped Asheboro's 2-game winning streak.

In a 4A Central Piedmont game next week North Davidson (5-0) takes on Mount Tabor, and Asheboro (2-3) will go up against Northeast Guilford in a 3A Mid-Piedmont game.
