Basketball Recap: Animo Leadership Takes a Loss

Animo Leadership lost against Price back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Animo Leadership Aztec Eagles were outmatched by the Price Knights and fell 70-22. While losing is never fun, the Aztec Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 611th, while the Knights are ranked 180th).

Price got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kamari Stewart-Crowley out in front who posted 22 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Stewart-Crowley a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Ace Simon, who put up 20 points and five rebounds.

Animo Leadership's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Price, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Animo Leadership will take on Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary in a holiday battle at 4:30 p.m. on Monday at. As for Price, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Bonita at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
